BEMAC presents Singout Sista: Rajyashree Josyer Shrikanth

Award winning Carnatic exponent, Rajyashree Josyer Shrikanth will present a very special music program in an evening of devotional music from all the corners of India.
Rajyashree is a master vocalist and accomplished veena (Indian stringed instrument) player. She began her music career at a very young age and was trained by her musician mother in vocal music. Since then, Rajyashree has received advanced training from legendary Carnatic gurus and established herself as a leader in her craft.
She has performed at numerous prestigious theatres, festivals and radio programmes in India and Australia including Woodford Folk Festival, Sydney Music Circle Concerts, Music by the Sea Festival, Laya Vidhya Centre Concerts, QPAC, Queensland Multicultural Festival.
At this special Singout Sista concert, Rajyashree will be accompanied by two musicians – Shen Flindell on tabla and Mrs Ammula Satyavathi on violin. There will be a special opening performance by talented female students of the Carnatic style.
Carnatic music was formed from ancient Hindu traditions and is considered to be a divine art form. It is a popular classical Indian style all around the world and has an emphasis on vocal music.
