BEMAC presents WORLD MUSIC CAFE: Tibet2Timbuk2

BEMAC is proud to be bringing the exquisite Tibet2Timbuk2 back together for a performance under the Story Bridge at our World Music Cafe on Saturday, June 24.

Since Tibet2Timbuk2’s formation in 2008, the world music supergroup’s rare live performances have been met with rave reviews. Filmmaker Albert Falzon described witnessing a performance by the eclectic Brisbane band as not so much a performance by highly talented artists, but a meditation that would be remembered long after the evening had finished.

With their rollicking Tibetan folk, afro-reggae guitar grooves and intricate Indian tabla, Tenzin Choegyal, Marcello Milani and Shen Flindell have created a joyful new sound that transcends cultural boundries.

All three musicians share melody, harmony, bass and percussion to create a gorgeous groove that has been hailed a musical masterpiece.
