Culture Train live in Brisbane

BEMAC’s award-winning Culture Train will conclude its 2-week tour of regional Queensland with an intimate performance at the Queensland Multicultural Centre (QMC) in Brisbane on 31 August.
Held in partnership between BEMAC and the Queenlsand Government, Culture Train is an integral part of Queensland Multicultural Month celebrations, as it travels to various locations throughout regional Queensland with a unique cast of culturally diverse musicians delivering free performances and workshops to audiences.
Made up of Sarah Calderwood (Celtic), Marcelo Rosciano (Brazil), Gertrude Benjamin(Torres Strait Island/ Philippines), Chong Ali (Vietnam) and Ben Kashi (Iran), Culture Train 2018 will deliver a unique fusion of musical influences and instruments, performed by an exciting mix of emerging and established musicians whose cultural heritage may lie in far-flung countries around the globe, but who all call Queensland home.
It kicked off in Dunwich, North Stradbroke Island on 17 August, and travelled to 14 locations in regional Queensland, from Dalby to Longreach, before makings its way back to Brisbane for this grand finale performance on the closing evening of Queensland Multicultural Month.
