Pistola Ave. is a rap group hailing out of the south side of Brisbane, Australia. Composed of emcees Danny Escobar and Chong Ali and songstress Amy K Ashton they are best known for their previous work under the name ‘EMR’. After the local success of their album ‘Elevate’ as EMR in 2011, and the consistent Australian nationwide radio play of their soulful hit ‘How it used to be’ the time had come for their music to grow. In 2015 the team regrouped and renamed themselves ‘Pistola Ave’ which saw them working on new music for their loyal fan base completely independently.
With a new maturity and deeper understanding of music, they found themselves creating music with a new level of imagination which lead to the release of the 2017 album ‘Pistola Ave. – EP’. ‘All you got’ featuring Brisbane band ‘The Fling’ was released as the lead single and hit the airwaves in Australia, the U.S., Japan and the Republic of Korea. Finding themselves on playlists next to the likes of fellow rappers Childish Gambino, J. Cole and Logic, Pistola Ave. credit artists like The Beastie Boys, The Fugees and The Black Eyed Peas for influencing their creativity and energetic live performances. Playing on stages such as Stylin’ Up Festival, Undercroft Southside Hip Hop Festival and Woodford Folk Festival, Pistola Ave. are no strangers to rocking in front of lively music lovers. ‘Pistola Ave. – EP’ is available digitally worldwide on iTunes, Spotify, Google Music, Tidal and Deezer.
