Born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Tichawona is one of the most imaginative and captivating musicians emerging from Africa today. His music equally embraces the deepest traditions of Mbira and Nyunga-Nyunga (thumb piano) music as well as the intense dance groove of the African Metropolis.
Amid a busy teaching schedule, in which he passes on his passion and skills to local youth, Tichawona has also been one of eight talented musicians selected to be a part of the Culture Train Regional Tour 2016, sharing his music and stories with remote Queensland as part of the Queensland Governments Multicultural Month celebrations.
