BEMAC Live: Ziggi’s African Groove

26/05/2023 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Ziggi’s African Groove is the creation of Senegalese born griot and charismatic international musician and performer Ziggi Mabeye Diagne.

Ziggi sings his own original compositions and unique adaptations of traditional melodies, rhythms and story-songs, in both English and Wolof, accompanying his vocals on kora, guitar and djembe. His music extends and transforms the sounds of his heritage by incorporating elements of other African and global styles and blues, rock and funk elements.

His compositions reflect his life, values, and experiences as a citizen of two worlds, and his respect and support for people of all cultures.

About the artist
