Presented by BEMAC in collaboration with Queensland Ballet, the second Global Fusion session “Be the mountain” will take you across East Asia & Tibet through an enchanting evening celebrating culture, music, dance, food, and song.
Starring BEMAC Producer and renowned musician Tenzin Choegyal, this special performance also features Japanese koto master Takako Nishibori performing as duo Gen 絃 with guitarist Phill Wilson. Japanese Taiko drummer Kaya Tominaga performs with UQ Taiko drumming ensemble. Hong Kong violinist Chi Lui Flora Wong, Taiwanese-Australian musician and composer Matt Hsu also perform with traditional Chinese dancers from the Queensland Dance Centre.
The evening will also feature a new work choreographed by Rani Luther for former Queensland Ballet dancer Sarah Thomson.
