CultivArt Concert Series – No. 3
28 Nov 2012 | Wednesday
Cultivating Brisbane’s finest emerging world music and culturally diverse artists.
CultivArt is about showing off the newest, freshest and most exciting new talent of Brisbane’s world music scene. They are three unique concerts of a diversity of performers presenting a variety of musical genres that shows the many faces of colourful Brisbane. Held over October and November at the new Queensland Multicultural Centre, let us introduce you to the undiscovered.
Nineteen emerging world music and culturally diverse artists have been studying hard at BEMAC’s 10-week Music Industry and Training Development course as part of the Engage Programme. After two and a half months of learning the fundamentals and business side of the music industry, the most exciting part of the course has arrived – live performance. Each concert will expose the raw talent of each performer and will culminate in a new collaborative piece with the rest of the group.
This finale of the Series on Wednesday 28 November has international Tibetan star, Tenzin Choegyal take the artistic reins. Showcasing will be Rohullah Gharibyar (Afghani Traditional), Shirin Majd (Iranian Classical), Provokal (Hip Hop), Tunoa Johnson (Classical Guitar) and Senayt Mabrahtu (Ethiopian Traditional).
Be the first to discover our rich future.
