Diversity Rules – Queensland Multicultural Week Arts Exhibition

‘Diversity Rules’ includes traditional arts and crafts, custom, contemporary and cross cultural artworks telling a myriad of stories from about 35 communities within Queensland’s rich cultural diversity. It will include fibre arts from across the Pacific and Africa, textiles from Scotland to Greece; Burma to East Timor, paintings by Afghani, Iraqi, Irani and peoples of European origin. Sculptures, wood carving, performance costumes will hang beside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and Queensland’s South Sea Islander artwork.

BEMAC welcomes disadvantaged groups such as youths in detention, and community arts projects participation alongside emerging and established artists and crafts women alongside older objects refugees and migrants have brought to Australia with them
