Ethno on the Road 2014

Ethno On The Road music tour is a worldwide project that brings together some of Queensland’s most well respected multicultural artists. This transcultural musical journey will be visiting selected regions during Queensland Cultural Diversity Week 2014, undertaking workshops and performing concerts that see a line-up of multi-award winning talent reinvigorate the musical landscape of our rich cultural spectrum.
Alesa Lajana – Winner of the 2010 Queensland Music Award for Best World Music Song, and nominated for Best Blues & Roots Song. A descendant of Spanish Gpypsies, award-winning songwriter, banjoist and guitarist .
Celestino Conde – It would be fair to say Andean Multi-instrumentalist Celestino pushes musical boundaries. Taking elements of modern western jazz and rock influences and fusing these with the richness of his Latin heritage.
Mark Lowndes – In his musical journey of over 10 years Mark has established himself as an artist deserving of the world stage.
Tichawona Mashawa – Tichawona is a composer, singer, guitarist and player of the “Mbira” and “nyunga nyunga” (thumb pianos) and represents a new wave of aware and intelligent African music.
Nicholas Ng – Australian composer of Chinese descent who brings together the ancient and the modern in music through the use of traditional instruments and electronic sound.
Ravikesh Singh – He is a versatile musician involved in numerous Indian Classical as well as contemporary fusion projects in Australia and India.
