A sneak preview into the Hidden History Album Project
After the release of her award winning album Secret Garden, Australian songwriter and guitarist Alesa Lajana presents this special preview of the songs from the Hidden History Album Project, an epic songwriting journey which explores the largely unknown historical figures and events that featured in the post contact conflicts between Indigenous Australians and early European settlers during the colonisation of Australia. To follow Alesa’s research around Australia visit www.hiddenhistory.com.au. Alesa will be joined on stage with Shenton Gregory, Kylie Southwell and Danny Doyle.
“A remarkable talent and a delightful voice” – SBS Worldview
“As a singer and a storyteller, Lajana is full of sweet wit, genuine gratitude and a natural friendliness that makes the whole experience so relaxed and joyful. Each song is the perfect vehicle to show off Lajana’s considerable instrumental talent on both the acoustic guitar and acoustic lap-steel slide guitar and her powerful and highly polished voice. “- Australian Stage
“She plays with authority, musicality, and also an unrushed quality that usually takes players years to come by – maturity in other words. She’s one very impressive musician, and I look greatly forward to hearing more from her through what will doubtless be a long and successful career.” – Jeff Lang
“She creates a complex and textured piece of music with her intricate finger style. “ – www.duggup.com
