Planet: Rhythms of Melanesia

Enjoy a musical experience that successfully integrates the live fusion of native, contemporary and western styles of Melanesian Reggae, Hip Hop and dance…where urban meets island.

Uniquely distinct from other sounds around the Oceanic Region, enjoy a stellar line-up of talented and gifted Melanesian artists from Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and the South Seas.

Featuring local songstress GEORGIA COROWA (South Sea Island/Vanuatu), last seen at the Powerhouse in the highly acclaimed Singoat Sista, talented Brisbane-based PNG artist, JAGARIZZAR, popular Solomon Islands singer-songwriter ERIN GILBERT and one of PNG’s all time best selling female artists, CATHY LEE, a favourite right aross the Pacific.

Alongside the seaesoned performers various young artists from the local Melanesian community have their opportunity to shine and present the rhythms of their home including poular Brisbane dance troupe CIFIC NESIANS, Ni Vanuatu singer JAMES ARU, Brisbane hip hop artist YUNG YANNY, Solomon Islands singer NIUNA K and various dance troupes and artists from the local Fijian and Papua New Guinea community.
