TAPA MASI KULIT EXHIBITION AT ALLIANCE FRANCAISE DE BRISBANE

Tapa – beaten bark cloth, is a major form of visual arts, cultural heritage and contemporary expression in many island nations of the Pacific. Following on from BEMAC’s Talking Tapa exhibition which travelled to three states over two years finishing in 2011, BEMAC presented TAPA KULIT works from PNG and the Indonesian Province of West Papua, curated by BEMAC project manager Joan Winter in 2012. In 2013 it is the Alliance Francaise de Brisbane’s turn with a show presented by BEMAC in partnership with Baboa Gallery.
