Internationally acclaimed Dheeraj Shrestha is recognised as the foremost Nepalese born tabla percussionist in Australia! BEMAC was honoured to be working with Dheeraj for the Queensland Musical Festival’s Live City Symphony, which took place May 15, 2021.

Dheeraj has an irrepressible creativity, tremendous clarity and exciting rhythmic improvisation are his stylistic hallmarks and this has established him, worldwide, as one of the finest exponents of tabla. His easy flowing style of playing tabla, sets him apart from other players of international renown.

We is also working with Dheeraj, alongside Brisbane City Council, on the beautiful ‘Songs of our Homeland‘ project. Dheeraj will be performing at the Mt Ommaney Library on Saturday, June 10 at 10am. For more information, click here.
