BEMAC throws support behind “Around the Clock”

BEMAC is supporting Logan based filmmaker Elise Lamb on her upcoming creative project – a short film titled Around the Clock, which offers a glimpse into the daily life of carers for the disabled, through the lens of a sibling.

The film will be based on Lamb’s own childhood in Logan and personal experiences caring for her disabled sister. Lamb developed her writing skills at the National Theatre in London and worked alongside Stephen Daldry on an episode of The Crown. Her personal experience with her sister saw her cast as casting advisor for A Christmas Carol at The Old Vic in London, for which director Matthew Warchus wanted to cast four disabled actors in the role of Tiny Tim. It was this experience, which sparked the inspiration within Lamb to write a script, which would provide inclusion for an artist with a disability.

“This film is very close to my heart – as it is my own personal story and has a very special message. It’s not often that disability is told through the lens of a sibling and told from experience,” she said.
