Celebrating Asian Culture in Brisbane
February was a vibrant month of celebrations, as Brisbane hosted a variety of Asian events across the city for Brisbane City Council’s BrisAsia Festival. BEMAC was thrilled to sponsor some of these events around town, attracting crowds from far and wide to enjoy the festivities.
First up was the Asian Food and Film Event at Queensland Multicultural Centre where attendees enjoyed a selection of award filming Asian film screenings (Jimami Tofu, The Farewell, Parasite) and delicious Asian food.
Then there was the Yatra Holi Sandhya performance that transported attendees through a celestial journey of contemporary music and dance, featuring instrumentalists and dancers – showcasing a unique collaboration of Eastern and Western music and dance.
And to end the full month of fantastic Asian events was BrisAsia Sound at the QMC. This free event was a platform for Brisbane’s emerging creative movement driven by young talent in the music scene. Festival goers enjoyed a musical showcase, panel discussions, exciting workshops, live performances, and even a silent K-pop Disco.
We’re looking forward to supporting more events like these at BrisAsia Festival 2021!
