EOI’s now open for Australia Arts Caravan 2019

BEMAC, in collaboration with Nasrin Vaziri – director of Pomegranate Connection, is seeking expressions of interest to participate in the Australia Arts Caravan 2019, with up to 5 Queensland artists / musicians / performers to visit Iran from 23-30 August 2019.

The first was held successfully in May 2018 in Kashan with sponsorship of Saraye Ameriha Boutique Hotel and in-kind support of Australian Embassy in Iran. The full pictorial report of this tour could be view @

For 2019, the project will be held @ Safavid Historical House in Isfahan and the caravan is looking for 4-5 Queenslander artists of all sectors and cultures (eg Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander visual artists, didgeridoo  players, country musicians, digital visual artists including photographers). Please ensure you are registered as a BEMAC artist.

The activities will include workshops, collaborating with local artists and musicians, group performances and of course visiting the artistic areas and icons of the city.

Successful applicants will have costs of meals and accommodation covered while in Iran for the designated tour dates. Please note however that all other costs including, but not limited to, visas, airfares and local transport are the responsibility of the successful applicant/s. BEMAC will support successful applicants to apply for funding through Arts Queensland’s Individual Funding (closing 12 April).

This is a great opportunity for those artists wanting to know more about middle-east music and arts, willing to work with artists from other regions and create new/fusion productions.
