NAIDOC Week – established in 1938 – is the opportunity to proudly acknowledge and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The pinnacle of this year’s celebrations is the National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony in Darwin on Friday 8 July. Ten Indigenous achievers will be honoured for the outstanding contributions they’ve made within their communities and at a national level across Art and Culture, Sport, Education, Employment, and the Environment.
Live packages of the Ceremony will be broadcast at http://www.sbs.com.au/nitv/ with a highlights telecast on NITV at 8.30pm (AEST). A full broadcast will air on NITV on Saturday 16 July at 6.30pm (AEST.)
