The Diaspora Grows – A Microresidency by Visual and Public Artist Anis (Chile)

Anis, a visual and public artist with an extensive trajectory in her home country Chile, visits Brisbane in late March to take part in a microresidency with BEMAC (March 23 to 29) comprising workshops, talks and an exhibition at the Queensland Multicultural Centre.

A sublime encounter of two award-winning ensembles; Matt Hsu’s Obscure Orchestra, who make otherworldly music that celebrates difference and the liminal spaces between cultures, and Zy The Way, who are ushering in a fresh musical movement from the heart of Asia.

BEMAC acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of the nation and the traditional custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and to emerging community leaders. We also acknowledge the important role and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the communities in which we work.
