QUBE 2021 was a huge success! Out of the 21 amazing finalists, 4 were singled out and won some awesome prizes.

The QUBE Effect is a music program run by BEMAC that provides development opportunities for young emerging Brisbane artists.

As part of the 2021 program, the 21 shortlisted acts received mentoring from industry experts, had their original songs professionally filmed and had the chance to win prizes.

The winner of the People’s Choice Award – supported by Torn Parachute is Shruthi.

Shruthi is an 18-year-old singer/songwriter. Shruthi’s main goal is for her audience to be captivated by her lyrics as well as her music. Each line has been written with deep rooted emotion so you can relate and feel connected to her music.

The winner of the Innovation Award – supported by Dew Process is Luatè.

Luatè is an emerging alternative pop singer/songwriter. A modern-day Nina Simone, Luatè creates highly emotive work carrying lyrics laden with viscous imagery.

The winner of the Best Live Performance – supported by The Tivoli is Evangie.

Channelling the ferocity of female fronted indie rockers like Jessy Day and Paramore an air of glittering nostalgia and charming honesty surrounds this indie-rock goddess Evangie.

The winner of the Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concerts Award is Amarri.

If Doja Cat and Cardi B had a baby, you would get Amarri. She’s a young rapper and singer with a great sound that will get you moving.
